I left my shoes by the front door overnight And in the morning they were full of draught. It slid in under the door but the shoes were waiting. They drank it down and now it sat in their bellies. When I poked my toes and soles inside My feet felt a silent unseen gulp. (Copyright © Michael Rosen) Back to New Poems >>
